About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Track elapsed time using a monotonic high-resolution browser clock rather than counting timer callbacks. Pauses exclude stopped time, and laps retain both split and total durations.

How to use

  1. Press start to begin measuring elapsed time.
  2. Record laps, or pause and resume without losing elapsed time.
  3. Review split and total lap durations, then reset when finished.

Common questions
Does the chronometer depend on interval accuracy?

No. Intervals only refresh the display; elapsed time is calculated from performance.now timestamps.

What happens to laps when paused?

Recorded laps remain unchanged, and no additional time accumulates until you resume.
