About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Compare parsed JSON values rather than formatting differences. Objects are traversed by key and arrays by index, producing machine-readable change records with precise root-based paths.

How to use

  1. Paste the revised JSON into the main input and original JSON into the second input.
  2. Run the recursive comparison.
  3. Review equal, count, and each added, removed, or changed path.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Do whitespace and object key order affect the result?

No. JSON is parsed first, so formatting and object key order do not create changes. Array order still matters because arrays are compared by index.

What does an empty changes array mean?

The two parsed JSON values are structurally equal, and equal is true. Primitive type changes are reported rather than coerced.
