About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Translate CSS sizing while keeping the project’s root font assumption visible. The browser default is often 16 pixels, but design systems can change it, so the reference size is always configurable.

How to use

  1. Enter the numeric px or rem value without its suffix.
  2. Set the root font size in pixels and choose the conversion direction.
  3. Copy the converted value with the appropriate px or rem unit.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does rem depend on the current element’s font size?

No. rem is relative to the root element’s font size; em is the unit that depends on the current or inherited sizing context.

Should all spacing be converted to rem?

Not necessarily. rem is useful for scalable typography and related spacing, but borders and some visual details may intentionally remain in px.
