About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Review edits without scanning two documents side by side. Text Diff uses longest-common-subsequence matching to align unchanged content and marks removals with minus signs and additions with plus signs.

How to use

  1. Paste the earlier version into Original text and the newer version into the main editor.
  2. Choose line comparison for documents or word comparison for detailed edits.
  3. Read minus lines as removed content and plus lines as new content.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does the diff overwrite my original text?

No. Both inputs remain separate; the output is only a comparison report.

Why might moved paragraphs look removed and added?

The diff matches content in sequence. A moved paragraph has no unchanged sequence at its new position, so it appears as a deletion and insertion.
