About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Create universally unique lexicographically sortable identifiers that combine the current millisecond timestamp with 80 bits of randomness. Each 26-character ULID uses Crockford Base32 and is generated entirely on your device.

How to use

  1. Choose how many ULIDs to create, from 1 to 25.
  2. Select Generate to use the current time and fresh random values.
  3. Copy the identifiers for database keys, fixtures, or distributed records.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
What makes a ULID sortable?

Its first ten characters encode a 48-bit millisecond timestamp, so identifiers created at later times normally sort after earlier ones.

Are these ULIDs generated securely?

Yes. The 80-bit random portion comes from the browser Web Crypto random source, and no identifiers are uploaded.
