About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Make nested XML documents easier to inspect without damaging text that sits alongside child elements. Browser XML parsing catches malformed markup before indentation or conservative whitespace minification.

How to use

  1. Paste a complete XML document with one root element.
  2. Choose two spaces, four spaces, or minified output.
  3. Fix any parser error, then copy the formatted document.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does minification remove every text space?

No. It removes whitespace-only nodes only around child elements and preserves meaningful text and mixed content.

Can the formatter repair invalid XML?

No. It reports parser errors rather than silently changing malformed names, attributes, entities, or closing tags.
