About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Inspect digital-signature structures in a local PDF with PDF.js. The report lists AcroForm signature fields, signed byte ranges, revision coverage, and available signature metadata without confusing a readable signer name or date with a verified identity.

How to use

  1. Choose an unencrypted PDF that may contain AcroForm digital signatures.
  2. Review each signature field, ByteRange, declared signer, and declared signing time.
  3. Read the limitations: this inspector does not perform cryptographic signature, certificate-chain, revocation, or trust validation.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does a listed signature mean the PDF signature is valid?

No. This tool only inspects structure and metadata. It does not verify the PKCS#7 signature, document digest, certificate chain, revocation status, or trust, so it never labels a signature cryptographically valid.

Is the displayed signing time independently verified?

No. A signing time or signer name extracted from the signature dictionary is declared metadata and may be absent or misleading. A validated signed timestamp and trusted certificate require separate cryptographic verification.
